Building awareness with Sensory Labyrinth Theatre
Our facilitator, Peter and Chloe Waters co-lead a workshop during a week long artistic project “Sensing the City”.
Sensory Labyrinth Theatre is a relatively new immersive theatre methodology - coined by Iwan Broic - with therapeutic potential that involves a blindfolded journey.
During the workshop the facilitators focused on methodologies - sensory exploration, mindfulness, contact improvisation - that are designed to awaken the senses, raise awareness and empathy. The participants were also invited to lead each-other through a blindfolded journey. This sensory journey lead to awakening the senses and to experience an intense feeling of presence and connection. This is a base for creating a deeper connection with self and developing trust to others.
